Jeremiah Trimble mentioned a flock of 9 Black-bellied Whistling Ducks being seen in Nova Scotia around the 1st of June the day
these birds were found in Ipswich. A look at a few images posted to the NS-RBA web site appear to show our knobbed bill duck to
be one and the same as seen in the flock up north. The 2 photos in the composite below come courtesy of Eric D. Mills

The word was quickly spread on the location of these 9 beautiful "tree ducks" first reported to MassBird by James Style.

The ducks were last seen flying south towards Hamilton as dusk fell. A check of portions of the Miles River to the south
and the surrounding trees did not turn up the birds.
