The Staff at the
Parker River National Wildlife Refuge is
currently proposing the destruction of the North Pool as a fresh water impoundment, along
with a portion of the surrounding fields
and woodland area by breaching the dike that holds the tidal Parker River at bay and allowing the
free flow of saltwater into the pool, thus adding 100 acres of salt marsh to the
surrounding 10,000. For more information on this issue and the opportunity to
voice your opinion please see:
Committee to Save the North Pool.
