High tide at Joppa Park today, April 30, '07 found the
Ruff and many Yellowlegs just a few
feet from the seawall. The birds "ruff" can be seen coming in around it's
throat. It spent
a fair amount of time performing a threat display to several of the
Yellowlegs before
chasing them off. Let's hope it sticks around for a few more weeks to see
it in full breeding plumage.
